Now that Obama has won the election where do we stand as Conservatives? What is our role? The first thing is not to believe the hype out there that this is no longer a conservative nation. This still is a center-right nation and most would consider themselves to be Conservative. A Newsbusters article covers this. I also covered the vote in my last article. The biggest problem is that we keep getting these candidates who feel they need to apologize for who they are! Apologize for being Conservative! They feel they need to lean left to appease people. That is the biggest mistake that President Bush made. Initially it won him the election but it has not helped his approval ratings. He tried to work across the aisle and got hammered by the Democrats for it. That is the reason for the spending spree he has allowed to take place in Congress. The answer is to get a Conservative to lead the Republican party! A Bobby Jindal or a Sarah Palin. A true conservative! But what is the plan for the next 4 years?

Support the President!

As a Conservative my plan is to support our new President. I do not agree with his policies and I hope that he does not go through with most of them. To not support him would be un-American. We have a process for electing officials and we went through that process and he came out the victor. Now as Americans we must support him and pray for him. He is our new President! I will not do what the Liberals did if he is called “Satan” by some dictator. I will stand up for my President and my Country! I do not have to agree with his policies to support the man and the position he is in. I will speak out when he does or says anything that goes against my beliefs or values. But I will not resort to the name calling and outright disrespect that the Liberals in this country have shown for Bush. Obama has not stepped into the position yet and I have no reason to dislike anything he has done. When he takes the oath and begins his Presidential term we will see.

My hope is that he does as he said he would and rule from the center. Judging by his past I do not see that happening but I truly hope that it does. I still stand by my opinion that we will be in a very bad place in 4 years if he pursues his socialist policies. Again I hope I am wrong, with the enemies we have out there the last thing we need is a weaker country distracted by economic issues. As Americans we should want nothing but the best for this country and that would require a great Presidency for Obama.

The Future

Will the real Conservatives please stand up! If things go as I believe they may this will be another chance to get a great candidate in there. With the disaster of Jimmy Carter we got Reagen. With Obama’s policies being even further left than Carter’s we may have a great opportunity. But we need to cut the garbage with these “sorry for who I am” Republicans. Stand up, state your purpose and don’t ever feel sorry for it! What is this garbage of feeling like we need to appease the left? If it doesn’t work don’t use it! We don’t support policies that we know are a disaster because we want people to like us! Look where that got President Bush, they blame him for everything even if it was their idea! What good did it do him to ban Incandescent light bulbs to combat “global warming”? Ultimately it hurts the country and did not help him one bit. I was an attempt to appease the left and it didn’t work. In the end Americans pay for the mistake and when it goes bad, Democrats get to blame him.

It is time to get Conservative, Constitution supporting Americans on the ticket! Someone who is not afraid to state their positions and refuse to apologize for them! Someone who will fight the media bias. Someone who will find anyway they can to combat the lies and propaganda of the left and their media pals. We have an uphill battle and we must be tough. We are up against Liberal Democrats who can do no wrong. They take ownership of nothing. They are never wrong. It is always someone else’s fault. Just go look at Barney Franks ad he had for reelection. The one where he states that he did what he could to stop the economic crisis but it was Republicans who messed up! I couldn’t believe it! The man was caught on video tape creating this disaster but it is still not his fault! Sadly people buy it because the media helps to keep the truth hidden. We are up against a media that has now solidified that they are bias. We are up against Hollywood telling us what is popular and what is not. We must find a better way to get the truth out.

This will require Conservatives to get out there and do something. We have amazing technology at our finger tips. Information spreads faster everyday and the liberal media will eventually be extinct but until then we must do the work. We have 4 years to do the work. During those 4 years we prepare for 2012, we support our President but we stand up for what is best for our country!
