Dear Mainstream Media, (and yes I mean most of you, with few exceptions)

I have watched over the last year as you promised that you had already picked who would best be our next President. You put him on every magazine and every front page. You told us not to worry about all the rumors about his associations. Not to worry about his Socialist comparisons. You told us that all those reports, that his policies were failing in other countries, were nonsense. You told us that all the people warning us that our economy would get worse and our defense would get weaker, were just fear mongers and racists.

As a whole we seemed to buy it all. We believed everything you said. We ignored the warnings from those you called “right wing conspirators”.

We watched as you told us that all this spending was good for the economy. We listened as you told us that those who are saying that Obama’s plan won’t work, were just rich people who hated us. They just wanted to keep us down and lie to us. We watch and listen, because you are suppose to be the objective voice out there. You are suppose to be the ones who dig for truth and do not let opinion or political favoritism steer your reports.

Even now as we are watching countries flee from the policies that you are praising. We are hearing people from other countries telling us that they have tried what we are doing and it is failing. We see these people ignored and ridiculed by you. We see you praise the same policies that they are now telling us, were the key to their failures.

So we sit here and continue to watch, continue to listen and continue to read. We watch unemployment rise, we watch evil dictators increase nuclear capabilities, we watch taxes go up, we watch companies being taken over by the government, we even watch as GM goes bankrupt, even though you told us that giving them billions of our money, would prevent that.

So my question to you now is.. As this plan seems to be making things worse, and the people you told us to ignore are starting to make sense, will there be a point where you say you were wrong? Will you apologize for putting your own ideology first and honesty last? When you go to sleep at night, do you think about what you are going to have to tell us next, when you see things getting worse? When you see those you called extremists and racist start to look like they were right?

I get the feeling the answer will be no. I get the feeling that you will hold on to your pride. You will continue to watch your ratings fall, and your newspapers fold for good.

And then you will watch us! As we move on to other sources for our news. As WE THE PEOPLE, realize that you no longer serve the interests of the people. We realize that we have other ways to get our news. We decide that we will determine whether or not you have a job!
